2 Day Jungle Tour / Amazon River
The 2 Day Jungle Tour is perfect for anyone traveling to Iquitos, Peru on a tight schedule. Maybe you want to discover the magic and taste of the Peruvian Amazon jungle and don’t have a lot of time? Amazon Tahuari Tours & Expeditions offers an amazing experience for you with a variety in activities including Jungle Lodge, Monkey Island, Gray and Pink dolphin spotting, canoe ride (caiman excursion), bird watching, night walking, etc.
Day 1:
Approximately 9: 00 am
After reception at the airport or hotel and a brief city orientation, we will depart from the city by private car to the port of Nanay (Bellavista) to board our boat. We will travel downriver about 40 km away from the city (approx. 1.5 hours). On the way, we will have the possibility of seeing pink river dolphins and other species on the riverbank. During your trip you will enjoy the majestic and mighty Amazon River in all its splendor before arriving at the lodge.
After you have settled in to your private room and following lodge activities, we will start a short trip into the jungle from the lodge. On this trip, we will possibly see some species of birds, monkeys, and other animals in their own natural habitat.
Lunch: 1:00 pm
After Lunch we will have the opportunity to visit Monkey Island, a sanctuary of Amazon wild animals where you may observe and interact (not pet) with a variety of monkeys and other animals. Species may include woolly monkey, spider monkey, squirrel monkey, brown Capuchin monkey, toucans, macaws, three-toe sloth, and much more. On the way back to the lodge we will have the opportunity to see the beautiful sunset (depending on the weather).
Before dinner, we will go for a Night Walk where we will be looking for some night species that can be seen such as tarantulas, scorpion, frogs, snakes, and bats. (As with all excursions, this walk is optional depending on your preferences).
Dinner: 7: 00 PM. Overnight at the lodge.
DAY 2:
Start 5:30 am.
Sunrise: Wake up early in the morning with the sound of the exotic birds and then navigate by boat on the middle of the Amazon to see a beautiful sunrise, then we will visit a dolphin spot, where we will be looking for pink and gray dolphins. On the way back we will be bird watching and may see flycatchers, egrets, vultures, parakeets, and hawks.
Breakfast: 8: 00 AM.
Fishing excursion; in this activity we will be looking for a good piranha spot, where our guides will be teaching you the fishing techniques on the river, and also we will be enjoying of the nature, and (optional) if you want to jump for a short time on the river and swimming with the Amazon river dolphins.
On the way back we will visit a tribe of the Amazon called the “ YAHUAS “ where you will have the opportunity to be in contact with them and learn about their ancient habit, cultures, dancing and the blowgun (OPTIONAL)….back to the lodge.
Lunch: 1:00 PM.
Return to the city and transfer to the airport or hotel

Visit a local village, where we are going to be learning about their life style and culture and also learn about some ancient tools: typical machines for extract of the “ SUGAR CANE JUICE “ and try the derivative from it, rice pillar, vessel for jungle drink…back to the lodge
Lunch: 1: 00 PM.
Visit to “ SANTA MARIA DE FATIMA RESERVE “ walking into the Deep jungle, and see the wild life as monkeys, birds, iguanas; on the way we will be doing a canoe ride on a lake looking for some wild animals and then we get to the view tower (approx. 35 meters high) to see the top of the rainforest and see some typical birds, waiting the sunset, on the way back we will use one more time the canoe to be looking for some night animals, alligators, jungle smoky frog, night birds, etc…back to the lodge.

Day 3:

Navigation by boat down river to Visit “ MAZAN TOWN “, where we will see the confluence of two the big river, tributaries of the Amazon, and then we will visit the local market to see the local products from the jungle, jungle meat, fruits, vegetables, etc…Back to the lodge.
Lunch: 1:00 PM
BUTTERFLY FARM: We will visit a local village to see their life style and culture and then the butterfly house to know and learn about the species of these beautiful creatures, the staff in this place will be teaching you the cycle life of the butterfly… Back to the lodge.
Dinner: 7:00 PM. Overnight at the lodge.
DAY 4:
Breakfast: 8:00 AM.

4 Day Vivencial Experience (San Rafael Village)

DAY 1:

Visit to BELEN Market is one of the most popular market in Iquitos, we will have the opportunity to see different species of jungle products like: kinds of fruits, veggetables, fishes, wild meat and others, and also one of the most popular Street “ PASAJE PAQUITO “ where we will find the secret of the magic of jungle , different types of jungle drinks, medicines in bottle, bark, powerful perfum, sourvenirs and others. LUNCH : ON BOARD Then we transfer to the port of “ PRODUCTORES “ there we will take a local boat to navigate downriver ( approx. 2 hours ) the journey will start on the Itaya river and followed of the Amazon river , during the trip you will have the opportunity to see the landscape of the nature then we will arrive to the village “ SAN RAFAEL “ in where we will be staying during the tour. Arriving to the village, accommodation in a rustic local house, introduction of the member of the family, and following the program, we will give a village tour, recognizing around and also we will visit some other houses and see their needs and life style. Excursion by canoe; in this activities we will be performing canoe ride in the Deep of the jungle in a small tributary of the Amazon, to be looking for and watching some species of wild animals on it´s habitat.

Night Walking where we will be looking for some wild night species that can be seen like ; tarantulas, scorpions, wild rats , frogs, snakes, bats etc. (optional)…( find the animals according to the mother’s nature ). Overnight in the village.
DAY 2 Sunrise:

We will wake up early in the morning with the sound of the exotic birds and see the sunrise on the Amazon and see the local people carrying their jungle products to the main port of village; then we navigate down river by our boat to make a birdwatching on the riverside of the Amazon.
BREAKFAST:

Walking to the villagers farm to see their plantations as plantains, bananas, yucas, sucar cane, papayas and so on, and also learn the techniques of sowing, how the local people generally use to plant the local products. LEARNING : Collection of palm leaves to learn how to weave and make the roof of the houses and also make some sourvenirs with it.

Navigation by motor boat crossing the Amazon River to visit another village called “ SANTA MARIA DE FATIMA ” to know their different style of life ; then we will explore their “ RESERVE “ long walking into the Deep jungle, and see the wild life as monkeys, birds, iguanas; on the way we will be doing a canoe ride on a lake looking for some wild animals and then we get to the view tower approx. 35 mt. DAY 3 Fishing Excursion:
5:00 am.
In this opportunity we wil be teaching the fishing technique with tools used by the locals, nets and sticks with hooks, then we will throw our fish nets into de river and of what we catch we will take with us for our food.
BREAKFAST:
8:00 AM.
In this part of the tour we will take an important class, “ SPANISH LANGUAGE ” to learn the local the words that the local people generally use it. CANE JUICE EXTRACT : Here we will teach you the ground of the cane with the typical machines and its healing properties, then we will offer the juice extracted from the cane and its derivative.
LUNCH:

Navigation by boat down river to visit the “ MONKEY ISLAND “ a sanctuary of Amazon animals (wild animals) where you will have the chance to observe and interact with them, ( not pet ) with a variety of monkeys and other animals ; woolly monkey, spider monkey, squirrel monkey, Brown capuchin monkey, toucans, macaws, three toe sloth, etc and much more….On the way back we will have the opportunity to see the sunset (according to the weather)…back to the village.

DAY 4:
Relax morning BREAKFAST : 8:00 AM. Navigation by boat in search of the Amazon river dolphins ( gray and pink ) to see them on their own habitat and enjoy of the nature. OPTIONAL : If you want to jump for a short time in the river and swim with the creature of the river Amazon Dolphins. Fishing excursion ; in this activity we will be looking for a good piranha spot, where our guides will be teaching you the fishing techniques on the river, and also we will be enjoying the nature( optional ).
